About You [Feb. 16th, 2007|11:01 am]
In which Wade asks for some references.

[Note: Nibble-sized!]

Although I've read through parts of the back history of many of the people on my flist, so many people have such vast journals that there is no way I can read everything, never mind comment. With this in mind, based on a suggestion by diachrony, I would sincerely love to know which of your journal entries you want me to read. Which ones represent you? Which ones are you most attached to? Which ones do you want people to read and respond to?

If you provide me with an ordered list (most preferred first) of entries you want me to read, I can assure you I will do so with enthusiasm. It can be a single entry, or three, or ten. If you want to order every single entry in your journal, I'll read them in the order given as time allows. If you prefer having a number to aim for, give me 3.

I note with some amusement that although this is one of the smallest entries I've ever posted, it still places burden on my readers, because now you have to go read your own journals and figure out what is important. It's hopefully a useful exercise though, and beneficial to everyone, not just me.

I have provided a long ordered list of my entries of interest here. As well, the index at the bottom of each of my entries provides you with my top-3 entries-to-read, although the top-3 will change over time, as discussed here.

I have MANY posts. I also use tags extensively so I can find things. Hence I'll give you a starting tag group instead of individual posts.

Musings is where I put some of my more coherent random thoughts and explorations.

You might also enjoy the art tag since it has both my personal art and many, many links to other art sites. (Some of it is friends only. Mostly my earlier art work which is mostly avaliable at my DeviantArt site now anyway.)

I also have a writing tag which contains much of my fiction and poetry. I think only about 1 or 2 people read that set. (Most of it is friends only.)

I am also going to steal your posting idea and ask my friends the same question.

I cannot claim it - diachrony mentioned it in passing awhile ago. Great idea, isn't it?

Much obliged for the tags - I look forward to reading them. I've basically created my own home-grown tagging system, but maybe I should see if LJ's can do what I want it too (usually these things never do exactly what I want, and I find it easier to just do it my way instead - I suspect you do the same).

I've found the tagging system to be quite useful. It was a pain to go back and tag all my old entries but I like how I can make up tags on the fly as well as use old ones. It also has a nice feature which I've used in the communities I moderate; the tagging rules can be set so that others can make tags and apply them to your posts. That has been a big time saver in intj.

The memories system works well for keeping track of special posts by other users so that you can find them again but it isn't very good for catalogueing an entire journal.

I think I can just make a few mods to my code and get my personalized tagging system to also be reflected in LJ. I'll just have the code crawl through all my posts and update them - been meaning to do that to add in my new index thingee anyways.

BTW, although it is certainly useful to know which tags you would prefer I read, note that because of how many there are, I will just end up reading them reverse-chronologically, and I may not get to those that you find most representative of self. Just a note, in case you decide to make a "really important entries" tag or something :-)

I can't use your links from my friends page for some unknown reason.

tags - Nope. No "most important" posts... just organization by themes, moods, goals, and topic. "Musings" is all about what I think about.

If you are looking for something specifically about me then I'd suggest You are reading the manual upside down and backwards and the link to the box meme in the text of that post. It probably won't make much sense to anyone other than me.

Oh? Which links? I've probably forgotten to fully qualify them. Let me know which links you are refering to, and I will most definitely fix them. The ones at the bottom of each entry? Hmmm, they shouldn't need to be fully qualified....

Ah, yes, specifically about you is exactly what I'm looking for - I shall read and ask questions if it makes no sense. Although I've been looking through the musings and arts tags (some of the pics are so awesome!)

The ones on the bottom of the entries.

I don't have many posts that are 'about me' specifically... there are a lot about what I'm thinking, what I'm experiencing, what I'm working on, and my analysis of that.

The amount of debugging information you are providing me is singularily sucky. :-) Where's the INTJ, lover of order and detail?

What happens when you click on the links at the bottom of my entries? Do none of them work, or just some? Ah, wait. Actually I can see them needing to be fully-qualified to work from within the friends-page. Yes, indeedy... ok should be fixed now and in the future.

Quick comment...

This is a perfect example of a short entry where an lj-cut is more of an annoyance than benefit.

But - great idea on asking for backstory. I love it.

Expect a few blasts from my past soon.

Re: Quick comment...

Hey Chris. Yes, I can see the point about the lj-cut. Unfortunately, the sense of "order" that lj-cut's give me means that it is unlikely I will ever *not* use lj-cuts. I like the structure of my posts as is. So, although you have my sympathies for the annoyance it causes, the number of people who read offline is probably fairly small and does not reach the threshold necessary to motivate me to change my presentation style :-)

I look forward to some references! I've looked at your profile a bit, but haven't had time to read much of it. Beautiful pictures though.

The only post of mine that is of any importance (to me, anyway) right now is my latest post, posted yesterday. I believe it is entitled "Clarification". :D

It is soooo awesome that things are going so well with you and your men! Cannot remember if I've asked - will there be a ceremony? Who will you invite? If you do change your name, and if your last name is A, and if D's last name is B, and M's last name is C, then what will your last name be? A-B-C? B-C? Z? I should post this in your journal, not mine!

I've nothing specific that I'd say "go and read". I'm a fairly open person, so please, ask away or indeed, help yourself to my LJ.

This is an unordered list of shit that I think is interesting

Beginning of my short-lived hitchiking journal in 2003:

My brain exploding not too long after I broke up with Caitlin in early 2006:

Weirdest dream experience of my life, by far, in which I woke up horrified and furiously scribbled on notecards everything I could remember for about twenty minutes and then walked to work terrified of the trees. The post is a direct transcription of what was on my notecards:

Me breaking up with my first girlfriend and nearly getting arrested at the mall. A portrait of Keegan in 2002:

You rock - thanks for the list! All read, all commented on, although I admittedly didn't write down everything I would have liked to ask. Dialog is sooo much more efficient than this cumbersome text stuff (but it sure is nice having a record of stuff).

If more entries come to mind, please do let me know.

Regarding dialogue, feel free to poke at me on AIM (KeeganIsANerd) or Skype (keegan.dunn) from time to time if you use them. :)

In person, I'm positive, happy and always smiling and laughing. These entries give a peek into what's hidden from most.
Here's a good quote about me. The rest of the post was sort of boring:
" I'm as content as a person can get with threads and sparkles of joy filling in all the cracks between my contentedness."
